Scene Fab
All weekend long, FREE for all ages

This year at the Spectrum Festival, Scene-Fab Inc. is creating a medieval scene for patrons to enjoy. Walk through the castle gates and into an encampment that transports you back in time. There will be tents that showcase an example of a Viking family, a main pavillion for shelter, characters to answer your questions and maybe even a mythical creature
sighting. If you want to play your own character, visit the merchant's tent and get outfitted with garb, jewelry and accessories. All guests are welcome to participate in chariot races, be a chivalrous contender in the fighting aeric or extract truths from your friends on the rack. You can try on armor, learn how it was crafted and even make an attempt at cold-forming a steel plate. We would be delighted if you stopped in during your visit to the park and joined us. All activities are free for you to enjoy. Connect with Scene-Fab on social media if you are interested in creating, playing or hosting a scene of your own.

Come and see AMAZING local talent ALL weekend long!

Nitty Gritty Dirk Band – Friday 4:15pm & Saturday 5pm

A local Medicine Hat band that came onto the live music scene just six months ago, their song style features upbeat, danceable, feel good country music, covering a variety of artists including Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, George Strait, Allan Jackson and Keith Urban. They also add in some classic rock, pop and blues…so there’s something for everyone. Band members include Matt Dirk, lead vocals /lead guitar, Aaron Dirk, lead guitar /synth / vocals, Sean Roche, bass/vocals and Wes Archer, drums

Trevor Moore - Friday at 5:15pm & Saturday at 6pm

Trevor’s unique style of roaming close-up magic suits virtually every venue—both standing and seated—and will keep guests entertained and engaged.

When flowing through the festival performing highly visual sleight-of-hand magic with cards, coins and other everyday objects, he adds entertainment value to the overall experience.

All his routines are performed directly in front of – and in some cases in the hands of – the guests themselves. Roaming close-up magic is an excellent way to break the ice and keep your guests relaxed and casually entertained throughout the event.

Tone Fitness Belly Dancing - Friday at 6:15pm & Saturday at 1pm

Tone’s Spectacular Show brings to life the dazzling, glittery world of Bellydance with elements of story telling, unique props, and talented dancers who have graced professional stages in Las Vegas. Audiences are always enthralled to see the bright colours and sparkling crystals of the Tone Bellydancers!

Taking August – Friday, 7pm

They are the kind of musicians that can bring a party to life from the moment they take the stage. The band's line-up features two of Alberta’s finest musicians, Daniel Hooft and Kelsey Porter. The duo has performed at hundreds of venues all over western Canada. Together, they have an eclectic repertoire which includes classic rock, pop, indie rock, folk and country covers as well as a collection of their own original tunes.

Tokey - Saturday, 11 am

Tokey, aka 2point0, is a very unique yet grounded hip hop artist with heavy influences from rock, funk and even classical pop music. Born in Medicine Hat Alberta, he had always had a great deal of passion for music. Determined with his best friend, at the young age of 7, to one day make music, that’s exactly what they did! From recording low quality tracks in the basement to performing in front of a crowd of 1500+, Tokey has undergone a massive transformation from introvert to extrovert. Over the years, he focused on multi-syllable rhyme schemes as well as dabbling in the art of chopping (rapping very fast). Tokey has opened for many artists – most recently Nelly at the Canalta Centre. He is an artist that is always looking for new people to work with and exciting opportunities. He has been writing songs for 14 years and is excited to be part of Spectrum.

Beyond Crimson – Saturday 12 pm

Beyond Crimson consists of singer Anna Theoret, drummer Kris Roga, guitarist Alex Resler, pianist Ashley Na and bassist Brandon Van Doorn. Heavily driven by hard rock, Beyond Crimson was brought together by the song “Civil War” by Guns N’ Roses in 2016. It all began when Alex asked Kris, “Hey, wanna start a band?” Through thick and thin, the members of Beyond Crimson have always been great friends. Sure they have their downs, but like family, they always find a way through. They are joining Spectrum for the first time all the way from Lethbridge.

Zanzee Band – Saturday 2pm

Zanzee has enjoyed an exciting musical career. This energetic duo featuring Arleen and Dave Zeleny has played all across Canada including Classic Rock Festivals playing alongside groups like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Deep Purple and many others. They also spent five years travelling the world playing on cruise ships, most recently traversing the Northwest Passage with Crystal Cruise Lines. They love to play and love to see their audience enjoying the tunes and having a great time listening to lots of classic rock, rocking country and new tunes as well!

Cold Shot Trio – Saturday 3:15pm

Don’t stay at home wishing you were here! Come join us for a power set of the best country and rock songs. This local band has been playing together for over 10 years, and has been featured at Stampede, local clubs, and more. The trio is made up of Lou Bernard (guitar/vocals) Nathan Scott (lead vocal/guitar) Abigail Scott (piano/vocals). They will get you on your feet dancing in the sun!
